Radek Vitek, the young Manchester United goalkeeper who was the goalkeeper in the warm-up game lost 0-1 to Rosenborg yesterday, opened up that it was a disappointing result, but if looking for a positive side, it was an opportunity for him to show his potential.
Vitek had a chance to play the full game at Lerkendal Stadion in Norway, making two or three fine saves to keep his team from losing by more than a goal.
It is a confidence booster as he looks to gain experience on loan at Accrington Stanley for the second half of the 2023-24 season.
“We are not happy because I feel that we should always play with the intention of winning. The manager told us not to let the attitude of playing a friendly match become part of our DNA. We have to demand more,” the Czech player told.
“The team is building up its strength. It’s only the first week, so we’re waiting for the rest of the team to join us after the international break.”
“But as I learned, in the end, you have to play to win.”
In the whole game, Rosenborg had 19 shots, UFABET but the young goalkeeper was very defensive. He had something to smile about.
“It’s great to see the young players getting their chances and whenever you step into the game you have to show your quality,” Vitek added.
“This is a huge opportunity in front of 20,000 fans watching you. It demands you to perform at your best.”
“It was an amazing feeling, the fans helped create a great atmosphere. Many people waited for us at the hotel, the stadium was amazing, a sea of people under the red jerseys.”
United ‘s senior XI yesterday included Marcus Rashford , Casemiro , Mason Mount , Jonny Evans and
Aaron Wan – Bissaka, but neither player was able to make an impact.
